FAQ

What is NEB Junction?

NEB Junction is a collaborative hub that collects, curates, and shares knowledge and results from the New European Bauhaus (NEB) initiative. It connects stakeholders, projects, and insights to support sustainable, inclusive, and beautiful transformation across Europe.

NEB Junction is currently implemented through a Horizon Europe CSA project, by a consortium led by NTNU – Norwegian University of Science and Technology, in cooperation with partners AIT, Ars Electronica, Climate KIC, DEMSOC, DOWEL Innovation, ERRIN and ICLEI.

Who is NEB Junction for?

NEB Junction is designed for the entire NEB Community, as well as those who are not yet involved with the New European Bauhaus. It targets public authorities, local communities, the construction sector, researchers, creatives, and anyone interested in shaping better living environments through NEB values and working principles.

What can I find on the NEB Junction platform?

The platform provides practical, validated insights from NEB projects, presented as "Knowledge Gems." These offer actionable examples, inspiration, and guidance to support real-world implementation.

How can I get involved in NEB Junction?
  • Add your project to the "map" (in case it is not already there)
  • Contribute to the NEB Gem repository
  • Participate in stakeholder activities such as the Stakeholder Assemblies to contribute to NEB Junction deliverables
  • Use the platform to learn from and connect with others working on NEB-related initiatives
  • Contribute to the drafting of NEB Junction final recommendations
How does NEB Junction contribute to decision making and the future of NEB?

NEB Junction brings together knowledge from diverse stakeholders and translates it into accessible insights and recommendations. It helps users understand what works, identify challenges, and apply NEB solutions in their own contexts.

At the same time it supports the development of the NEB by identifying gaps, gathering stakeholder input, and providing policy recommendations. It helps ensure that NEB solutions are widely adopted and adapted across regions and communities in Europe.

What is the NEB Facility?

NEB Facility is a unique funding tool dedicated to supporting the New European Bauhaus initiative in the period 2025–2027. It is comprised of the Research and Innovation (R&I) and the Roll-out component.

The R&I component is structured under the Horizon Europe programme, with a budget of €120 million per year from 2025 to 2027. The Roll-out component aims to support innovative solutions for the built environment with a similar amount, at different scale and through different EU funding programmes.
